Rainbow Toucan is the fourth release in the Representatives of the Species series, created through a collaboration between Mennica Polska and Germania Mint. This limited 2026 Niue issue celebrates the distinctive colours and character of one of the world's most recognisable tropical birds.
The coin's obverse depicts a toucan perched on a branch, with vivid rainbow colouring across its prominent bill and plumage. Rich colours stand out against the subdued silver background, giving the finely detailed bird a striking sense of depth. The reverse features Niue's coat of arms surrounded by exotic foliage, continuing the wildlife theme.
Struck from 2 oz of 999.9 fine silver, the 50 mm coin combines High Relief with ruthenium finishing, colouring and numbering. Only 300 pieces will be issued, each presented with a capsule and Certificate of Authenticity in specially designed packaging.
The series is distinguished by environmentally conscious packaging using cardboard, paper, wood and linen.
