Urd, the eldest of the Norns, stands at the roots of Yggdrasil — the Tree of Life — watching the past as it reflects in the waters of her well. Her name means “that which has been”, and it is through ancient memory that her power is revealed.
In Germania Mint’s interpretation, Urd is portrayed as calm and timeless, weaving golden threads of fate from the memories and experiences that have already passed. Though her eyes appear blind, she sees beyond the obvious — reminding us that the past shapes the present, yet a new path can still be chosen.
The Germania Mint double-headed eagle is framed by Yggdrasil’s roots and luminous threads of destiny. Some strands appear broken, symbolising that while history influences our course, it is possible to break free and begin again.
This 2026 release is struck in BU quality and presented in a protective capsule with a Certificate of Authenticity.
