Sleipnir is a symbol of journeys between worlds, divine speed and limitless power. According to mythology, he was the offspring of Loki and the mighty stallion Svaðilfari, becoming Odin's loyal mount and travelling effortlessly between the realms of gods, humans and the land of the dead.
The obverse features the majestic head of Sleipnir and the front part of his powerful body, with four visible legs emphasising movement, strength and supernatural energy. Ornamental embellishments enhance the mystical and divine nature of the design.
The reverse completes the image with the rear part of Sleipnir in full gallop, revealing the remaining legs of his extraordinary eight-legged anatomy. In the background appears Germania Mint's double-headed eagle symbol.
